Deckproof grades other sites on accessibility, so this page says how we do ourselves. As a micro-enterprise we are exempt from the German Accessibility Act (BFSG, § 3(3)); we publish this statement voluntarily and hold ourselves to WCAG 2.1 level AA, the level EN 301 549 points at.
What we measured
We run axe-core against WCAG 2.1 level A and AA on 23 page types on every build, and the build fails on a single violation. At the last check that was zero violations across all 23. The script is scripts/check-a11y.mjs in our repository, so the measurement can be repeated.
Automated testing covers roughly a third of the criteria. Zero violations means no machine-detectable failure was found, not that the site is fully accessible. We say that here for the same reason we say it in every report we sell.
What works
Every function is reachable by keyboard, including the scan form, the report, the dialogs (which trap focus and close on Escape) and the mascot controls. A skip link is the first focusable element on every page. Colour is never the only carrier of meaning: grades and severities are always written out as text next to the colour, and links in running text are underlined. Motion can be switched off with the "motion" control in the header and follows your system's reduced-motion setting. Text scales to 200 percent without loss of content. Live regions announce scan progress and results to screen readers. Fonts are self-hosted and never block rendering.
Known limits
The attacker's-eye replay pane and the request log are dense monospaced tables that are correct for screen readers but slow to listen to; a summary line precedes them. The PDF report is tagged with headings but not yet with full reading order for every table. The mascot is decorative and hidden from assistive technology.
History
On 15 September 2026 our own check found 48 violations on the home page, 46 of them contrast, including text at a ratio of 1.48:1. They were fixed the same day and the automated check was added to the build so the same thing cannot ship again unnoticed. We mention it because an accessibility statement that only lists successes is worth nothing.
